DUDHSAGAR WATERFALL :

The fabulous falls to the south-east of Molem are the second highest falls in the country. A tributary of the Mandovi river plunges down from a height of 603 m. and creates a foaming torrent that splits into three streams and cascades down a near vertical cliff face into a deep green pool full of lush foliage.

"Dudhsagar", in Konkani, means "Sea of Milk". Many animals from the Sanctuary nearby are spotted around which include Butterflies and Birds.

The view of the spectacular falls from the bottom is simply breathtaking. The Devil's Canyon at the base of the falls, is a very charming spot with a deep pool formed between the steep-sided rocks. The pool is very deep with sharp undercurrents and considered quite dangerous for swimming.

The best way to visit the fall is by the train from Vasco to Londa. It stops at Dudhsagar station. The fall can also be reached by a jeep, but only between January and May, when the level of water in the rivers goes down. The jeep crosses the Bhagawan Mahaveer Sanctuary and several scenic locations can be seen on the way.

There are many natural pools around the waterfall, where you can swim. It is also a popular destination for hikers and trekkers.
