Church Of Rachol, Margao :
This church is dedicated to St. Ignatius Of Loyola,
but the original one was dedicated to All Saints.
Next to the Rachol Church is the Seminary of Rachol, which imparts religious
education to all Christian missionaries.
Also there is a mini-museum in the Rachol Seminary,
which houses rare and beautiful pieces of religious art of ancient times.
For adventure seekers,
their is a sightseeing tour which goes through an underground pass that leads to the
Rachol Fortress.

1st January (dedicated to Bom Jesus).
1st Sunday of August (dedicated to Our Lady Of Snows).
Rachol church (Seminary)
The seminary was founded by the Jesuits in 1580, and was originally located at Margao.
Earlier, there was also a hospital, a school for poor and a theological college at the seminary.
Fr. Thomas Stephens, the first Englishman to set foot on the Indian subcontinent, established the country's
third ever printing press overhere.
The seminary was badly neglected after the religious orders were banned in Goa.
It was revived back in the 20th century and is flourishing again. The Theological College
Has relics of Hindu sculptures found during the construction of the Seminary.
The library is full of tomes in Latin and Portuguese. There are portraits of Goan Bishops and old photographs of the students and teachers of the college.
The Museum of Christian Art, was established here in 1991 by the Indian National Trust of Architecture
and Cultural Heritage. The restoration work of the building was funded largely by Gulbenkian Foundation of Portugal.
The museum has a rich collection of ancient Roman Catholic art objects mostly dating back to seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
