Our Lady Of Rosary Church, Navelim :

Afonso de Albuquerque built the church in 1510, as thanks giving for his success against Yusuf Adli Shah.

Legend has it that Albuquerque monitored the attack over Adil Shah's city from this point and vowed to build a church here if he was victorious.

It is one of the earliest church of Goa and bears an incription about the conquest of Goa by Afonso de Albuquerque in 1510.

The church is built in Manueline and Gothic architecture, but its rounded windows close to the tiled roof, resemble a fortress church.

The facade has a rounded tower with a cross on the top. The church has two chapels and three altars.

It is believed that St. Francis Xavier (the patron Saint of Goa), used to teach catechism at this Church to his followers.
