  • Sao Jorge Island

             This picturesque island is located 7km east of Vasco-da-Gama and is set in the water of river Zuari. It is connected by a narrow causeway to the left bank of Zuari, off the National Highway 17A.

             Besides a lighthouse, there is not much to see on this wooded island.



  • Grande Island

             It is located south of pequeno and is divided into two parts by a little strait.

             One part which has a 20th century shipwreck, is privately owned. It has a tiny bay and is a well-known scuba diving site . The other part has a jetty, which is under the Indian Navy, and is a prohibited area.

             It also has a freshwater spring, which attracts tourists, but has little or no beach.

             The relics of an observatory and a lighthouse atop the hill affords breath-taking views. It can be reached by boats from Vasco, Bogmalo, Dona Paula, Calangute and Colva.


  • Pequeno Island

             It is also known as Bat island and is just over a kilometer from Baina beach of vasco-da-Gama.
