Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary :

       Smallest of the Goan wildlife Sanctuaries, spreading 8 sq km. Its 52 km from Panaji and 38 Km from margao, Bondla is up in the lush foothills of the Western Ghats.

       This ideal Jungle is major attraction for nature lovers as well as children's.

       The sanctuary has a mini zoo, Deer, Safari park, gardens, botanical gardens and eco-tourism cottages. Elephant rides are also available which are quite popular.

       The Zoo was orignally established to house orphaned animals, but these days are also a breeding colony for larger species of deer.

       At the hills to the southeast of sanctuary gour(the state animal), monkeys, wild boar, deer, langurs, jackals, pythons and leopards etc. with several species of exotic birds are sighted here.
