Anjuna Beach :

Famous throughout Goa for its Wednesday Flea market, Anjuna is beaches paradise. And is one of the less crowded beaches, though very close to Baga. It is a much safer beach to swim than Baga and Calangute, and the most favorite pastime is watching the setting sun.

Also it is famous for its trance parties and full moon parties, which go on till early morning or may be 24 hours. The most famous and biggest Full Moon Party takes place during the Christmas full moon, where international Dj's perform with latest trance and rave mixes from London. You should also take care of belongings, during the parties, as theft is a big problem.

While on the beach you can enjoy fresh fruits and coconuts from the local vendors.

Around Anjuna

Other than the beaches, there is lot to see around anjuna, which includes the magnificent Albuquerque Mansion which was built in 1920, the Mascarenhas Mansion and the Chapora Fort.

The isolated Ozrant Beach, located between Anjuna and Vagator, was once a 'Hippie Haven', There is also a spring with a sitting Buddha carved in the Rock. The spring water is rich in minerals and is potable. The cliff face at Ozrant is covered with psychedelic art from the sixties. The Mascarenhas Mansion is an architectural delight with rich and classic balconies. The windows have stained glass floral etchings.

The Chapora Fort, once a domain of the Muslim rulers before the Portuguese, gives a splendid view of the nearby Anjuna and Vagator beaches. The fort has been well preserved except for a few ruins.
